A little birdie told me.... (and the winner is....)

Once upon a time there was a girl living in a small village up north where it is very cold.... her name was Carrie. This girl wasn't a princess or anything extraordinary. She was a normal girl living a normal life. She was happy most of the time (if we are being honest) and loved her family very much. She worked very hard taking care of her prince charming and two lovely children. But one day she became very lonely....... The winters were long and she couldn't go pick berries and wildflowers or play in the meadow with her children.  The prince worked long, hard hours and the children went to school leaving her all alone at home.

Carrie kept her days filled with chores and doing what she loves most in the world... making things. She was always doodling this and that and creating new and wonderful things. She loved making things for people she cared about. But she also made things just because it made her happy. The best part for her was sharing her love for art with everyone. Trouble was she didn't have a whole lot of people to share her passion. She dreamed that there were others out there like her... but it was only a dream.... or so she thought....

One day, while daydreaming out the window, a little bird appeared. She sang a sweet song and Carrie opened the window and POP she just perched her sweet little self on her finger. How unusual!
The dear little bird was whispering something to her....

'What is that you say? A place called Bloglandia? A place where people of all sorts come together to make friends and share their passions?! A place where I wont be lonely anymore? Oh my...sounds wonderful. How do I get there?"

Suddenly a little bottle appeared out of nowhere onto her window sill.

'Drink it you say?'

So she opened the bottle and drank a little bit of the potion....
And as quick as lightening she was whisked away to a magical place...

A place where the land flowed with
beads and glue,
Paper and ephemera,
and magic carpets too.

She walked to the gates, they told her that in order for her to enter she had to give something precious, a gift. Interesting she thought. They explained that all who enter have to give a gift... something that was a part of who they are ... something that explains what makes them special.  So she  said she would be happy to do it... and actually she would be happy to even give two gifts...if it meant she would make new friends.
They told her that after a few weeks they would send
her little bird friend to tell her who she should give her gifts to.
She was so excited...she explored Bloglandia.... it was a magical place.
She met lots of nice people and made some new friends.

And now ....

Guess who was at her window this morning?
 Yes... the little red bird.....

And in my hand he placed 2 little pieces of paper....
Mendy... she will be getting 'Spread your wings and fly'
and
Cindy... will be getting 'Hold On'!
Oh I am so happy for them.

Now I must go back to Bloglandia and explore some more....
I should just wear a board around my neck that says
will make art for friends....

 Friends at last...
Thank you my dear sweet bloggers!
xoxo,
Carrie
