Froggies, Soup and Danny Kaye.....

Did you know Moms are magical? I know mine was. She had special powers... and apparently it is a gift passed down from generation to generation, through the women in my family (maybe yours too?).
Our house has been going through some tough times lately... little dust bunnies run rampant in all the remodeling debris ... then there are all these little tummy bugs and froggies jumping into everyone's throat! It is an awful bother to all who live here. Then I realized I needed to see if I too could be a magical mommy like my very own.

So I rummaged through my cupboards and found all the special ingredients to find what I needed to cure my little family...... Some broth, onions, garlic (lots of it!), celery, carrots, parsley, fresh oregano, one roasted chicken,
add some gnocci and VWALAH!!

A brew so magical that all the little scary critters running rampant in the body have no choice but to leave!

As soon as she lifts the spoon it is practically instantaneous!
Bippity Boppity Boo!

But that is not all....
Oh no.

There is more to do.

We must make some tea.
In a perfect cup.
With a drop of honey.
mmmmmmmmm

And then...
to take us to a place
where we feel better
we visit our friends,
Ginger and Fred...

and with Danny Kaye...he makes us giggle.

Then let Shirley charm us with her sweet smile...

but after awhile we
walked down the yellow brick road with
Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man, and Lion
 until we realized there is
 no place like home...
(little girl's feet were all wore out from the walk
so I had to rub them with my special ointment... a.k.a vicks)

Then lay our heads down
by the 'Light of the Silvery Moon'

Oh.... the funniest thing happens when we are ill...
time slows down and we make some of the most wonderful memories.
Some may even call them enchanting.
Maybe little bugs and critters are just trying to give us some balance?
 Hmmmm, maybe.
Be Well...
I am also sending some magic to you.

XOXO
Carrie

I think Mommy Magic is something we all gain when we have our first little one...All the magic moments from our childhood come back and we draw from that...Your soup sounds delicious...Hope all those little critters will be moved out by morning..or at least have their bags pack and waiting on the Taxi...

I'm reading lots of post about soup today! I'll be making my own soon - home made chicken stock (from Sunday's roast bird) and lots of veggies with plenty of garlic to fight off that cold I feel trying to invade. I have lots of Mummy Magic today - it's my son's birthday.

Oh, my darling girl...I can almost see us bundled up on the couch watching the Court Jester and laughing until we cried. Maybe your soup is "the brew that is true"....I love you. I'm so glad we have those special memories to share and pass along. Mom

So sorry to hear you have been ill...a magical soup does do the trick to chase the evil buggies away. And a cup of tea with Artful Blogging magazine sounds quite lovely...may I join you? Thank you for a sweet lyrical post...and you are right~moms are indeed MAGIC. :) Theresa
